Asiatic Acid: A Pentacyclic Triterpene Possess Wide Pharmacological Activities
Asiatic acid is a pentacyclic triterpene extracted from Centella asiatica which is a tropical medicinal plant native to India, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, South Africa, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Asiatic acid possess wide pharmacological activities, and has been widely used in Indian traditional Ayurvedic medicine. In recent years, more and more studies have been reported about the pharmacological activities, clinical application and structure modification of asiatic acid.
