Wogonin: An O-Methylated Monoflavonoid with Various Bioactivities

Wogonin is an O-methylated monoflavonoid found in Scutellaria baicalensis which is one of the most popular and multi-purpose herb used in China traditionally for treatment of various diseases1,2). Wogonin is also one of the active ingredients of Sho-Saiko-To, a Japanese herbal supplement3). It has been reported that wogonin exerts anti-oxidant1), anti-cancer4), anti-inflammatory4,5), anti-viral4,6) and neuroprotective effects7). For your reference, a glycoside of wogonin is wogonoside [W12]. (The product is for research purpose only.)
